What is An Act to Amend the Procurement Act :

Transparency is a huge part of government legitimacy. People need to be able to see what their government is doing and how they are influenced by various interests. Legislation that seeks to cast light on the hidden recesses of government is broadly termed Sunshine Legislation.

This sitting, David has introduced his own sunshine legislation, An Act to Amend the Procurement Act. The aim of this bill is to require government to publish annually the contracts it has entered into with vendors where the value of the contract exceeds $10,000. These vendors include companies that are providing products or services to government.
