Member’s Statement: First Nations communities
Mr. Coon: I appreciate that the minister is keeping the House informed on his activities with regard to meeting with the First Nations chiefs. I look forward to hearing from him in the future on visits that I am sure that he will be making to our First Nations communities. I remember that Andy Scott, when he was the federal Minister of Indian Affairs, traveled to so many communities across the country by all types of modes, including the smallest of aircraft. It is a lot easier in New Brunswick to visit our communities. I am sure that the minister will be out and about, that he will report back to us on his meetings in the community, and that he will have the opportunity to meet with the elders, the young people, and the grassroots community, as well as the chiefs. It is tremendous to be kept up to date. Thank you.
