David recently toured three of Fredericton’s newest businesses.
On June 19th, Laurel Green, owner and curator of Bellwether, showed David around her shop, located on the second floor at 384 Queen Street. Bellwether contains a wide range of merchandise: vintage and modern consignment and second hand clothing, local art and jewellery, and handmade accessories.

Laurel has received wonderful support from the community since opening her doors on April 18th, and she is thankful to a devoted group of customers that are making this sustainable fashion business so successful. Just two blocks down the street at 494 Queen Street, Chelsey Daley opened Sequoia’s doors to the public on May 1st. Sequoia is an organic and natural bulk foods store that also sells supplements, beauty and skin care products, and pre-made lunches. On May 15th, Chelsey showed David around her store. On June 30, David dropped by True Food Organics, whose new owner, Laurent Pimpaud, has big plans for this small community organic food store. Pimpaud will continue to sell local and organic produce and products, but also wants this to be a community hub where neighbours share their skills and knowledge, compete in chess tournaments, and enjoy the cafe to meet with their friends.
