Collaboration Creates a Win-win for All
David Coon had a chance to get an up close look at a unique health care facility in the riding when he accepted an invitation from nurse manager, Joan Kingston to visit the Fredericton Downtown Community Health Centre, recently.
The centre, located in the Centennial Building on King Street, draws together a team of professionals who deliver a wide range of services using a collaborative practice model of health care delivery.
In addition to offering client services, the centre acts as a teaching facility, training nurse interns and community volunteers in the basics of patient-centered care. It is also quickly becoming recognized as a leading research facility in the area of community-based health care.
