I had the pleasure of attending the Syrian Refugees Dinner hosted by the Fredericton Islamic Association on Sunday night and to chat with families that have recently arrived in our city. I also had the privilege of welcoming a new refugee family to Fredericton as they first stepped off the plane yesterday afternoon. This is an exciting time. I have been impressed with the response of New Brunswickers to these newest members of our communities. The waves of volunteers that have stepped up in the last months demonstrate the kindness and goodwill that is characteristic of New Brunswick. I am pleased to represent the generous people of Fredericton South and I am always happy to welcome new constituents.
