MLA David Coon seeks provincial support for the Fredericton Pool
On April 12, 2017 MLA David Coon sent a letter to Minister Ames who is responsible for Tourism Heritage and Culture, which includes sport. His letter requested that Minister Ames act to keep the UNB pool open until a new aquatic centre can be built in Fredericton.
On April 19, 2018 Minister Fraser, responsible for the Department of Tourism and Infrastructure sent a letter back to David indicating that the province would consider providing funding if the city and the university requested:
